CopyJorge Agustin Nicolás Ruiz de Santayana y Borras, better known in the academic world as George Santayana (1863-1952) due to primary university institutionalization, was a Spanish- American philosopher, writer and public figure. The Sense of Beauty (1896) is the first among his large writings and maybe the first monograph on aesthetics written in the USA. Santayana’s text is very characteristic in historical aspect and so AU is publishing it fully in translation, having divided it in to parts because of its volume. To be continued in AU.
