About

Aesthetica Universalis (Universal Aesthetics) is the theoretical quarterly being published by Faculty of Philosophy at Lomonosov Moscow State University. We work both on the Internet and on the paper. The content of our work is divided into the following sections: THEORY (the aesthetic field from contemporary theoretical points of view); HISTORY (appearance, transformations and adventures of aesthetic ideas in different times and within different cultures); TRANSLATIONS (significant aesthetic sources translated into Russian; REVIEWS (expositions of remarkable publications, dissertations and conferences on aesthetics); PRACTICES (descriptions of aesthetic experience of different kinds). The journal agregates and publishes investigations in all theoretical localizations of the aesthetic field as this concept is known in the international aesthetic community (see Berleant, A. The Aesthetic Field: A Phenomenology of Aesthetic Experience. Springfield, Ill., Thomas, 1970).

Since 2024, in addition to the regular issues with the above mentioned structure, the journal has started publishing an ongoing series of special thematic issues under the internal classification name Library of Aesthetica Universalis  (LAU) in which complete works on aesthetic problems, created in Russia or introduced into the Russian scientific circulation in the form of translation, are published.
