Abstract

This article discusses the peculiarities of the translation of foreign poetry from English into Russian. Poetic translation is considered to be the most difficult form of translation, which brings the different opinions on the part of critics regarding the proximity to the original text. This work analyzes the aesthetic principles of the translation activity of T. L. Shchepkina-Kupernik on the example of the poetry of Robert Burns.
